The State wide Thanithiran competition is open to all the schools in Tamil Nadu. It is organised by the State Government and Education Department and this year it was held in Tirunelveli.
Eleven competitions were held in each of three age categories in such disciplines as Oratory, Classical Dance, Folk Dance, Quiz and these are conducted first at zonal level, then district level and finally State level.
Eight of our teams came first in the zonal and district competitions so found themselves representing the School in the State level finals which were held in three locations in Tirunelveli on 25th October.
For a single school to have so many teams in the final of such a huge event is remarkable and our pupils deserve much praise and appreciation. They certainly left their mark: we came away with seven prizes which meant Tirunelveli District won the overall championship trophy.

Intermediate Folk dance: Second prize
Junior Classical dance: Second prize
Senior Classical dance: Third prize
The prize distribution ceremony was organised very grandly on 26th October in the presence of the honourable State Minister for Education, the Mayor of Tirunelveli, the District collector and the Chief Executive Officer.
The winners of the First prizes in Dance and Music performed again for the pleasure of the dignitaries and then the winners received their trophies with great pride.
