Veetukku Oru Vignani / Scientist from very home is the competition held by the popular Tamil Television Channel Pudhiya Thalaimurai to encourage the New and Innovative scientific Inventions of the budding scientists of schools in Tamilnadu.

The competition for the current academic year 2016-17 was held in Francis Xavier Polytechnic College, Tharuvai.

The projects were examined and assessed on themes like involvement, explanation, evalauation and elaboration. Students from more than 100 schools participated in the event with around 250 experiments. The competition was held for two divisions namely Juniors for classes 6 to 8 and Seniors for classes 9 to 12.

The project on ‘Modern Sump’ exhibited by our 11 standard students Balaji and Kaveri won the First place in the Seniors Category . The demo and Explanation given by our students won the appreciation by the cheif guest and the judges. We are very happy that our students will be representing Tirunelveli district in the State level competition to be held in Chennai next month.
