Celestial Wedding Enchants Devotees…

The academic year 2016-17 started with the Celestial Wedding of Sri Sri Srinivasa Padmavathy Thriu Kalyanam in our School campus.

As the year 2017 is going to be the millennium birth anniversary of the Great saint Bhagavat Sri Ramanujacharya,  the father of the Sri Vaishnava philosophy, the temple management of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has organized  yearlong birth celebrations of the great Srivaishnava Saint from May 10 of this year to  May 1 of 2017 following His Divine association with the kainkaryams performed to Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala and Sri Govindaraja Swamy in Tirupati.

The most important one being the “Ramanuja Sancharam” where in a specially decked vehicle carrying the utsava vigrahams of Lord Sri Malayappa Swamy, Sridevi, Bhudevi and Sri Ramanujacharya covers  all the 106 Vaishnava Divya Desams located across the country in the next one year.

As a Part of the celebrations in some places they also conduct the Srinivasa Kalyanam. When the TTD bestowed the opportunity of conducting the Celestial marriage to Our school we strongly believed it as God’s gift to us to conduct the divine marriage in the school campus and HIS reward to us for achieving the first three district ranks in the Plus two examination.

On June 27, 2016 Monday for the second time  “Srinivasa Kalyanam” was  conducted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam in our school. Delegates from TTD arrived here on the previous day and had discussions about the arrangements for the Event with our Principal Mrs. Usha Raman & Correspondent Mrs. Nirmal Ramarathinam . The Management, Staff,  Students and Volunteers from the town worked enthusiastically and made all the arrangements in a very grand manner in a matter of just two days!!

Around 2 p.m , a grand procession of the deities has been carried out from India Cements to Our School campus . Later the deities were placed in the grounds for the darshan of the locals up to  to 4 pm before the celestial wedding commenced in the evening.

Thousands of devotees were enthralled with the sight of the celestial wedding of the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy along with his two consorts to Sri Devi and Bhu Devi which took place in a grand manner. The divine wedding was performed in a ceremonious way with interesting episodes of traditional Hindu marriage rituals. The celestial wedding enchanted the devotees and prasadhams were distributed to all.
