Aksharabhyasam

Aksharabhyasam was conducted on 08, October 2019 for the tiny tots who took their first steps to school. The function began with the Pooja.  The pooja was done in the  traditional way by making each child to write on the Aksharabhyasam plates. Our Principal addressed our school students who were gathered to attend the puja and sang Bhajans on the auspicious day of Vijayadasami. She highlighted the value of learning art and skills and the necessity to appreciate those skills.

National Champions in National Ludo Championship 2019!

Jharkhand Ludo Association under the auspices of Ludo Federation of India organised National Ludo Championship competitions for school students on August 28 and 29. Our students D.Deepak karthikeyan of class 8 and Mahalakshmi of class 9 went to Jharkhand with our physical education staff Ms.Seeni vasuki. Deepak won the Gold medal in both si gle and doubles whereas Mahalakshmi won the Gold in Doubles and brought laurels to our school.

IDEA CHALLENGE 2019

Our Students Bala Ganeshan.S.P of 10 D and Ramamoorthy.V of 7E took part with their ideas Painting Climber and Water Level Monitor in the NEC Idea challenge event, a part of NEC Start up Entrepreneurship Summit 2019. Of the two ideas, Water level Monitor has been recognized by the team and the participant V. Ramamoorthy got Consolation Prize.

TINY TOTS SHINE IN FANCY DRESS

The tiny tots of our kindergarten classes exhibited their talents in the Fancy dress competition conducted on September 14, in our school Priory hall. The active participation of the children and the enthusiasm of the parents made us very happy. The children portrayed many themes like importance of following traffic signal, go green, avoid plastics, eat healthy food, save water etc.,

Puranava Quiz – I Prize

Puranava Quiz 2019 Out of 2011 teams across 13 districts, 2 teams of our school with their extraordinary performance were selected to participate in the Semi finals which was conducted for top 28 teams of the Zonal level. In the Semi finals too our children stood in the first and second place. Since only one team from a school could participate in the Grand Finale, Tejaswini and Madhuvarshini of class 8 went on to the stage. From the initial round they maintained a good lead and won the First place. They were awarded 2 gms of gold coin each. Srivatsan and Ramasubramanian missed the chance very narrowly with the margin of two marks. They were given special appreciation and prizes by the Organisers.

FIRST PRIZE IN GANDHI SKIT

To mark the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of our nation Mahatma Gandhi, different programs and competitions are being conducted across the country for the school students. The District Science Centre, Tirunelveli organised a Skit contest on August 7 for the school students on the topic ‘Turning points in Gandhi’s Life’.

The students of Sri Jayendra Golden Jubilee School Sankarnagar won the first place in this contest. They enacted beautifully depicting the momentous decision Gandhiji made to change his attire from the elaborate Gujarati attire to a simple dhoti and shawl. Since this significant decision was taken by Gandhiji in Madurai in September 1921.  The Principal and Staff congratulated the students for their wonderful performance. Here we would like to mention that our school students also represented Tamilnadu in the National Level Gandhi Quiz conducted last year in Calcutta and won the third place.

The Investiture Ceremony

The Investiture Ceremony for the academic year 2019 -20 was held on 29th July. The results of the election conducted for selecting the School heads and House captains were revealed in the assembly by our Principal a week before.

The Investiture session became a special occasion due to the presence of the Emanuels, the guests from London to our School. Iwin of class 11 was bestowed as the School Boy Head and Rishvega of class 11 was bestowed as the School Girl Head by our Principal Mrs. Usha Raman.  Then the captains and vice captains of the four houses namely Athreya, Kowshika, Srivatsa and Vathula were pinned with the badges by the Staff of the Emanuel School, London.

Our Principal congratulated the newly elected Office Bearers and hoped that they would perform their duties with utmost diligence.

Head Girl Rishvega along with her team of Office Bearers took oath with a promise that they would carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence.

A surprise visit by the Chennai Super Kings CEO!!

The fourth edition of the TNPL is played over 28 days across three venues between July 19 and August 15.The India Cements Limited Cricket Ground is one of the three venues. The CEO of the Chennai Super Kings Mr. KS Viswanathan fondly called Kasi was in townand we all were surprised, when we got the call that he is visiting our school. We were all set ready to receive the special guest cheerfully.

He has been with the CSK team since its formation. Mr. Kasi possesses vast experience and is the main man of the franchise. Previously, he worked as a chief scout for India Cements Limited.

Our Principal and Staff gave him a warm welcome. He spent around one hour in our school and very interestingly enquired about our school cricket team. He was taken around the school by our Principal.

84th Jayanthi of Our Patron Saint His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal

On 19/017/19 we celebrated the 84th Jayanthi of our Patron saint His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal. Children were asked to come in colour dress to the school. In the morning assembly the students and staff paid tribute to the saint by singing Bhajan songs. Our Mutt Students chanted Vedic Mantras. Sweets were distributed to all the students. Our Principal gave a short and inspiring speech on Guru Bhakti and Faith to the students.
