The Junior Super Kings (JSK) Interschool T20 Championship 2024-25 South Zone saw yet another incredible win by our school team! We proudly clinched the championship for the 8th consecutive year, setting a record of dominance through dedication and teamwork.
Our hero, Gosic Vijay of Class 12, dazzled everyone, earning both the Man of the Finals and Player of the Tournament titles. Mithun DM of Class 12, with his deadly accuracy, was named Best Bowler, while Muthusaran of Class XI played a crucial role with his brilliant batting, steering the team to victory when it mattered most.

Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal Golden Jubilee School, Sankarnagar, is dedicated to the all-round development of its students and takes pride in nurturing their sports talents. The school has always emphasized the importance of physical education and has provided excellent training facilities for various sports.
Our cricket team is among the best in Tamil Nadu, consistently demonstrating exceptional skill and sportsmanship. We regularly participate in Chennai Super Kings tournaments and have been at the top of inter-district competitions. Our higher secondary boys, D.M. Mithun and Sakthivel, have been selected for the Tamil Nadu Under-19 SGFA cricket team, while Gosic Vijay and G. Muthusaran have made it to the Under-17 Tamil Nadu SGFA cricket team.

The spirit of Christmas filled the air as our school celebrated the joyous occasion with enthusiasm and grandeur. The event was graced by Rev. Father Dr. Joe Michael Selvaraj from the Palayamkottai Diocese, who was invited as the Chief Guest. Our beloved Principal, Mrs. Usha Raman and Vice Principal Mrs.Ganga Mani also added their esteemed presence to the celebration.
The highlight of the event was the grand entry of Santa Claus, jingling bells in hand, bringing joy and excitement to all the students, who cheered with uncontainable happiness. The stage was adorned with vibrant decorations, including a beautifully lit Christmas tree, setting the perfect festive mood.
Adding to the cheer, our staff, along with the school choir, presented melodious Christmas carols that resonated with the true essence of the season. The celebration reflected the values of love, joy, and togetherness, leaving everyone with hearts full of festive cheer and memories to cherish.
December 18, 2024, marked a significant milestone in the growth of our school. The grand opening of the state-of-the-art indoor badminton court took place, brimming with energy and enthusiasm.
The event was presided over by Mr. Rajesh Batra, Managing Director of Cravatax Limited in Mumbai and a former professional tennis player from the 1980s, alongside his wife, Mrs. Sujaya Batra. Together, they officially inaugurated the Jamna Batra Indoor Badminton Court.
We were honored to have Dr. Gayatri, a distinguished gynecologist and obstetrician, and an All-India Gold Medalist in badminton, as our Guest of Honour.
Earlier in the morning, Mr. Rajesh Batra and Mrs. Sujaya Batra were ceremoniously welcomed by the school band, which led them to the school assembly amidst cheers and applause. The Principal, Mrs. Usha Raman, and Mrs. Nirmal Ramarathinam honored the guests during the assembly. Mr. and Mrs. Batra addressed the students, stressing the important role of sports in shaping character and instilling discipline.
The much-anticipated inauguration ceremony followed, with cheers and applause filling the air as the Guests of Honour lit the ceremonial lamp. The Batras then officially unveiled the plaque to mark the opening of the new badminton court.
In his inaugural speech, Mr. Batra highlighted the importance of sports, stressing that students should actively engage in physical activities. He explained how sports help in the development of well-rounded individuals, strengthening not just the body, but also the mind and character.
Mrs. Batra, a multifaceted personality—a tennis and golf player, a talented artist, and a pianist—captivated the students with her inspiring speech.
Dr. Gayatri, in her address, highlighted how sports empower individuals to face challenges with confidence and determination.
Our Principal, Mrs. Usha Raman, joined Mr. Rajesh Batra to play a few initial shots on the new court. This marked the beginning of the exciting inaugural friendly matches that followed.
Dr. Gayatri played a fantastic match with our students, showcasing her impressive skills. The students and staff were treated to three thrilling matches that followed, each highlighting both talent and sportsmanship. At the conclusion of the games, medals were awarded to the players as a token of appreciation and encouragement.
The new badminton court is more than just a facility for developing athletic abilities; it symbolizes the school’s dedication to fostering well-rounded individuals. The day’s events blended celebration, inspiration, and healthy competition, leaving everyone energized and motivated to strive for excellence, both on and off the court.
Our young quizzers proved their mettle at the prestigious SNUC QuBiz held in Nagercoil! Competing against the best minds from schools across the region, Adarsh and Hari Prasad (Class 10) brought home the third prize, while Petchi Kowshika and Viswajit (Class 9) clinched the fourth spot.
Notably, both teams displayed exceptional skill and determination, securing the top score in the preliminary round—a testament to their preparation and teamwork.

Kanishka and Mahalakshmi of Class 8 secured second place in the juniors category at the Mega Quiz Competition organized by Arvind Eye Hospital and the District Science Centre on the occasion of World Diabetes Day 2024.
The quiz focused on important topics such as eye care, diabetes prevention, and pediatric eye health. Their achievement highlights their knowledge and interest in these crucial health areas, which are vital for creating awareness among the younger generation.

We happily share our outstanding success at the highly anticipated Kiddival, an interschool competition organized by RMKV Silks, Rotary Club of Tirunelveli West, and Rotary Club of Tirunelveli, Venuvanam. Our Quiz Wizards, Nitish Anand of Class 10 and Vidyasankar of Class 9, made us proud by securing the Second Prize in the prestigious 21st Sivanthi Quiz Cup, a State-Level Quiz competition organized by the Alumni Association of Dr. Sivanthi Aditanar College of Engineering, Tiruchendur, on 14th November 2024.
Competing against 48 schools from across the state, they emerged as the First Runners-Up, showcasing their brilliance and quick thinking. Despite facing stiff competition from Higher Secondary students on stage, Nitish and Vidyasankar displayed remarkable knowledge and confidence, securing their place among the top.
Their outstanding performance earned them a cash prize of ₹3000/-. Hearty congratulations to our young achievers for this incredible feat!
Our talented students shined at the IDEA CONTEST 2024, a prestigious Mega Project Expo organized by Francis Xavier Engineering College, Tirunelveli, on November 8. Competing against schools from across the region, our school teams brought home remarkable achievements, securing the first and third places in the Innovation category for their creative and impactful projects. Additionally, our students demonstrated impressive knowledge and quick thinking by winning second place in the General Quiz, which challenged them in rounds on science, technology, and general knowledge.

On October 25, 2024, the Jayendrans of Class 8 hosted an inspiring Literary Fiesta centered on the theme “Exploring the Power of the English Language.” The event celebrated the diversity and expressive richness of English, engaging the audience with a wide range of literary forms, including stories, poems, conversations, tongue twisters, speeches, and skits. Each presentation was crafted to foster creativity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for the nuances of the language.
One of the highlights was a reenactment of the Greek myth “Pandora’s Box,” which symbolized themes of “Hope and Despair,” “Evil and Suffering,” “Deception and Betrayal,” and “Feminine Agency.” This powerful portrayal encouraged students to reflect on universal struggles and the enduring significance of hope.
Adding a touch of classic literature, the students also staged scenes from Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice.” Through this timeless story, they explored the contrasting themes of “Love vs. Materialism,” captivating the audience with their effective enaction and attention to detail.
