On October 25, 2024, the Jayendrans of Class 8 hosted an inspiring Literary Fiesta centered on the theme “Exploring the Power of the English Language.” The event celebrated the diversity and expressive richness of English, engaging the audience with a wide range of literary forms, including stories, poems, conversations, tongue twisters, speeches, and skits. Each presentation was crafted to foster creativity, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation for the nuances of the language.
One of the highlights was a reenactment of the Greek myth “Pandora’s Box,” which symbolized themes of “Hope and Despair,” “Evil and Suffering,” “Deception and Betrayal,” and “Feminine Agency.” This powerful portrayal encouraged students to reflect on universal struggles and the enduring significance of hope.
Adding a touch of classic literature, the students also staged scenes from Shakespeare’s “The Merchant of Venice.” Through this timeless story, they explored the contrasting themes of “Love vs. Materialism,” captivating the audience with their effective enaction and attention to detail.
This celebration of English language and literature stands as a testament to our students’ talents and their passion for exploring the world’s cultures, ideas, and expressions through language.
