The Kindergarten Department celebrated Colours Day on 4th August 2014. This day is great fun for all involved and is designed to help the youngest children to identify and differentiate various colours, talk about them and think about how colour enhances and influences their lives.
The four classes were each allocated a colour – red, green, yellow and blue – and each room was decorated in the allocated colour. The children then came to school dressed in the colour allocated to their class and many brought objects – toys, fruit, vegetables or plastic household items in ‘their’ colour. The teachers too were dressed up in the same colour as their pupils.
There was much competitive spirit between the children and they were all anxious to make a contribution to their group’s display.
The children did colouring sheets and displayed them on the notice board and they also spoke about the significance of the colours in the rainbow and our national flag.
Mr. Sunder Singh of Johns College was the Chief Guest who appreciated the efforts of the children. The Principal and Correspondent of the school gave their full support to make this celebration a grand success.
