In June a  Book Fair was held in the V.O.C. Ground at Palayamkottai . This innovation, organised by the Local Authority and Government was designed to encourage students and their families to buy and use books. Many publishers made their books available for people to browse and discounts were available for those who wished to buy. More than 100 books were bought for the School library.

To encourage children to attend this 10 day event competitions were organised for schools from Tirunelveli District. Fifty of our students attended the Fair and, of course, competed with their usual enthusiasm, winning First prize in the Quiz, First and Third in Singing and First in Drawing: a pleasing outcome.

The Fair was a great success and there is now much demand that it should become an annual event.
